Summary: Fictionalised diary of Amy Dyer who is caught up in Cyclone Bola in Gisborne, 1988. Amy is a twelve-year-old Auckland girl whose parents have left her to stay on a vineyard in Gisborne with relatives while they go on a sailing trip. Cyclone Bola strikes, sending the area into chaos. Amy doesn't hear from her parents for weeks and fears they are lost at sea. Gisborne is ravaged by the cyclone and afterwards there is much work to be done clearing up. Amy stays on and helps the community and her family on the vineyard. Her parents eventually return and the family is reunited. (Publisher)
